Itinerary information
Day 01 – Arrival in Negombo
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Negombo. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 02 – Muthurajawela Wetland / Dutch Canal Boat Ride
Explore the Muthurajawela wetlands or enjoy a scenic Dutch Canal boat ride rich with birdlife and mangroves.

Day 03–04 – Wilpattu National Park
Travel to Wilpattu for two nights. Enjoy full-day safaris in Sri Lanka’s largest national park, famous for leopards, sloth bears, elephants, and endemic birds such as the Ceylon Junglefowl and Black-capped Bulbul.

Day 05–06 – Sigiriya and Minneriya
Journey to Sigiriya. Visit Minneriya National Park to photograph “The Gathering” of Asian Elephants and endemic birds. Take part in a night safari to spot the elusive Gray Loris.

Day 07 – Wasgamuwa National Park
Embark on morning and afternoon game drives in Wasgamuwa National Park, home to wild elephants, buffalo, spotted deer, crocodiles, and, with luck, leopards.

Day 08–09 – Gal Oya National Park
Head to Gal Oya for two nights. Experience the rare sight of elephants swimming across lakes during your full-day safari.

Day 10 – Kandy and Udawattakele Forest
Travel to Kandy and explore Udawattakele Forest Reserve, a sanctuary filled with endemic flora and bird species.

Day 11–13 – Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains
Enjoy a scenic train ride from Peradeniya to Nanu Oya. Visit Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to photograph cloud forests, rare lizards, and highland birds. Explore Hakgala Botanical Garden for more bird photography.

Day 14–15 – Kumana National Park
Travel to Kumana National Park for two days of safaris. Capture photographs of leopards, elephants, sloth bears, and waterbirds in this coastal wilderness.

Day 16–18 – Yala and Bundala National Parks
Spend three days exploring Yala, Sri Lanka’s most famous national park, known for its dense leopard population. Visit Bundala National Park to photograph flamingos and migratory birds in Sri Lanka’s only Ramsar wetland.

Day 19–20 – Sinharaja Rainforest
Continue to Sinharaja Rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to endemic birds like the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie and mammals such as the Purple-faced Leaf Monkey.

Day 21–22 – Mirissa and Galle
Head to Mirissa for your final photography adventure. Explore the Galle Dutch Fortress, then embark on a whale-watching tour to photograph Blue Whales and Sperm Whales.
